(Beeston Eat for Peace, 2009)
Strong, welcoming communities grow when different people choose to share simple life experiences. So, seeing as we all need to eat... why not EAT FOR PEACE?!
EAT FOR PEACE is about hosts around Leeds opening up their homes for meals in which different people can meet, talk about what matters to them, and start to build stronger communities. We and the amazing volunteer hosts have hosted a series of great EAT FOR PEACE days since 2008. Click here to read the Yorkshire Post's coverage of the project, or click here for photos from previous EAT FOR PEACE meals.
For 2010, we're looking at feeding EAT FOR PEACE energy into the national Big Lunch initiative (www.thebiglunch.com) on Sunday 18th July. And/or CLICK HERE for more info or to get involved.
EAT FOR PEACE is part of the Leeds City of Welcome campaign, which aims to help generate a culture of welcome and hospitality across Leeds. Leeds City of Welcome is affiliated to the national City of Santuary movement.
